What is a Real Estate Closing?

A real estate closing is the final step in the purchase process. The real estate closing date is set during the negotiation phase. On the closing date, the ownership of the property is transferred to the buyer.

What should you expect at your closing?

Buying a house is an exciting time and the more you know about the process, the more relaxed you’ll be going through it. Your CT real estate attorney can help you understand exactly what will happen at your closing. We let you know how much money you will need to bring at least one day before closing.

Some information about the costs associated with your real estate closing should be provided to you before you put a contract on a house. Once the seller accepts your sales contract, the countdown to closing begins.

On the day of your closing

On closing day, the property will be transferred from the seller to the buyer. Your real estate attorney will walk you through signing a number of documents associated with your house closing.
